Charity organisation Oxfam kicked off London Fashion Week February on Thursday staging its first ever runway show, titled Fashion Fighting Poverty.

The fashion show, held at the Oxo Tower's On|Off venue in central London, showcased a range of second-hand clothes currently on sale in Oxfam’s 650 UK high street shops and online site. All profits from the charity’s fashion sales help fund its work to end poverty worldwide.

British Vogue stylist and thrift-shopping queen, Bay Garnett, styled all the models in unique Oxfam fashion. She said working on this fashion show gave her something “extra”, as she felt it was a “really constructive project”.

“I know I'm lucky and privileged, and for many people in the world life is so much harder. It's been a real pleasure to be this involved with Oxfam and do what I can to help," she said.

Celebrity models such as Stella Tennant, Erin O’Connor and Bella Freud walked the runway, presenting dozens of striking, eclectic looks.

Oxfam head of retail brand Fee Gilfeather commented: "This show makes a powerful fashion statement. Our shops are treasure troves of unique clothes that look wonderful, and feel even better - because they fight poverty one piece at a time. Oxfam fashion relies on the public who generously donate to our shops, and the savvy customers who buy it to stand out from the crowd.”

"Supporting Oxfam fashion is a great way to make the world a fairer, kinder place and that is a fight worth joining,” she said, thanking everyone, including Bay Garnett, for their contribution.
