L'Oréal Paris USA President Karen Fondu retires from company

L’Oréal USA announced on Tuesday the retirement of Karen Fondu, President of L’Oréal Paris USA, effective at the end of 2016. Her Ikdeep Singh, President of L’Oréal Canada’s Consumer Products Division, will succeed Fondu as President.

Fondu spent 37 years at L’Oréal beginning her career as a Sales Representative in 1979. Throughout her career, she served as Vice President Sales of L’Oréal Cosmetics Division, Deputy General Manager, Maybelline New York/Garnier, President, Maybelline New York/Garnier and finally President of L’Oréal Paris USA, which she held since 2008.
 
“Karen Fondu’s legacy at L’Oréal goes beyond even her extraordinary business success and professional achievements,” said Frédéric Rozé, President and CEO of L’Oréal USA. “Over the course of her career, Karen trained, mentored and developed several generations of talent, who have in turn gone on to have remarkable careers and contribute to L’Oréal’s success. Karen also worked tirelessly to engage the community, champion women’s empowerment, and expand L’Oréal Paris’s philanthropic initiative, Women of Worth, to celebrate the individual beauty and intrinsic worth of every woman.”

Fondu’s successor, Ikdeep Singh began his career with L’Oréal in 2014. Prior to L’Oréal, he worked at P&G most recently serving as China General Manager for all of P&G’s hair care brands. Under Singh’s leadership, China became the single biggest contributor to P&G’s growth. Singh will report directly to Michel Brousset, President of L’Oréal USA’s Consumer Products Division.
