Jason Wu will launch lifestyle products at New York Fashion Week

The New York-based designer will expand his line into the lifestyle sector, with a special display at Cadillac House during New York Fashion Week.

On September 12, Jason Wu will launch a line of lifestyle items such as notebooks, branded Sharpies, phone chargers and headphones. The line will be available at Manhattan’s Cadillac House gallery for two weeks, during which time the designer will also host special events.

Wu’s lifestyle line will be available exclusively at Cadillac House, however the designer hopes to eventually distribute the collection in stores such as Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman.

The foray into lifestyle products comes on the heels of the designer’s first fragrance launch and the debut of his more affordably priced Grey collection. As with the Grey line, Wu’s lifestyle products will make his label more accessible to a wider market.

Wu was inspired to create the line after seeing a Sharpie display during a trip to Hong Kong. The Taiwan-born Canadian designer chose to include items he uses in his own daily life in the collection, such as Moleskine notebooks and headphones. The items will be rendered in a shade of grey Wu developed with Pantone.

With the launch of his lifestyle brand, Wu joins the likes of Gucci, Cynthia Rowley, Anna Sui and Monique Lhuillier, who have launched furniture and home accessories lines in recent years.
