Rising visitor numbers from Europe, Russia, the US and the Middle East helped the London Textile Fair achieve a 4% rise in footfall at its SS19 edition in January compared with July 2017.

The trade show said 5,790 people passed through its doors this month. Still, British visitors still accounted for 85% of the total, with around 60% coming from the Greater London Area.

The event was held at the Business Design Centre on 10-11 January, offering four halls with a total of 475 exhibitors showcasing textiles, accessories, print studios and vintage garments. 98% of exhibitors came from Europe, with Italy and Turkey accounting for more than 50% of the exhibiting space, followed by United Kingdom (17%), France (8%), Portugal (7%) and Spain (5%).

Fashion textiles and accessories continued to be the main focus of the fair, occupying the main hall, balconies and two new rooms within the balcony level. With 60 exhibitors, the accessories hall reached full capacity after three seasons of growth.

There were also 393 fashion fabrics manufacturers, 35 of which were presenting at The London Textile Fair for the first time, said the event in a report. Print design and vintage garment exhibitors were located together within the atrium hall.
A partnership between The London Textile Fair and The London Design Fair also led to the launch of a new show in New York last August.

The next edition of The London Textile Fair will be held on 18-19 July.
