Holt, Renfrew & Co., Limited is gearing up to overhaul its Ogilvy flagship in Montreal for the inauguration of Holt Renfrew Ogilvy, scheduled for 2020.

The Toronto-based luxury retailer announced in 2013 plans to merge its Montreal operations with Ogilvy, which was expected to be done by 2017. The process was delayed, but now Holt Renfrew has finally divulged new details including its re-branding as Holt Renfrew Ogilvy. The partnership will result in the expansion of the current Montreal Ogilvy location on Saint Catherine Street, while Holt Renfrew Montreal will close.

Alongside a new name, the new 250,000-square-foot space will be the largest of its kind in Canada and will include new store features such as the Apartment, a private shopping environment, and a personal shopping program for men and women as well as Holt’s Café, valet parking, and concierge service.

Prior to its completion in 2020, some additional departments will open including a new 23,000-square-foot beauty hall with premium color and skin-care brands; an 8,000-square-foot women’s footwear department, and a 20,000-square-foot leather-goods shop, offering luxury handbags and small leather goods.

The Holt Renfrew Ogilvy main floor will be anchored by several in-store shops from some of the world's most iconic brands including a 2,000-square-foot Dior shop, a 3,000-square-foot Hermès shop, a 2,300-square-foot Prada shop, a 2,500-square-foot Tiffany & Co., as well as a Chanel, Fendi and Louis Vuitton shop.

"We are so excited about creating a unique, luxury shopping experience for our customers in Montreal," said Mario Grauso, President, Holt Renfrew, in a news statement. "This is a dynamic city with a rich history, and a renowned fashion legacy that we are honored to be a part of. Inspired by the best of both Holt Renfrew and Ogilvy, we have designed this store to offer our customers the very best luxury products and an unparalleled shopping experience in what promises to be one of the most beautiful stores in the world."

The store has been designed by interior designer Jeffrey Hutchison & Associates, with support from Lemay, a Montreal-based architectural firm. It will be connected to the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences.

The overhaul follows an investment of over CAD $100 million.
