British department store Harvey Nichols has partnered with Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Group of Companies to enter one of the most attractive markets in the world for luxury brands.

The high-end retailer has opened a store in Doha, Qatar, where expatriates have one of the highest levels of disposable income in the world. Located in Doha Festival City, the 240,000-square-metre department store boasts more than 24,000 square metres of retail space over three floors, showcasing a luxurious edit of womenswear, menswear, accessories, beauty and more.

“We know there is an appetite for our brand in the region so we are excited to be able to offer the discerning customer in Qatar our exclusive edit of designer brands,” commented Daniela Rinaldi and Manju Malhotra, co-chief operating officers of the luxury retail chain.

Hisham Saleh Al Mana, chairman and managing director of SH Al Mana group, added: “Harvey Nichols will add a great shopping experience to Qataris and expats alike. We truly believe in the growth of our beloved country and with the FIFA 2022 World Cup, Qatar is paving the way to becoming the center of attraction in the Gulf Region.”

The move expands Harvey Nichols’ international portfolio, which already includes a presence in Hong Kong, Dubai, Riyadh, Istanbul, Ankara and Kuwait. The department store chain has also key locations across the UK and Ireland.

The Doha store serves Qataris – ranked as the biggest buyers of luxury goods in the Middle East by American Express - with a series of unrivalled services, including an experienced team of stylist and private shoppers to provide expert knowledge on seasonal trends in the private shopping suites.
