Bhumika Grover opens flagship store, plans expansion to London, NYC

​Bandra, Mumbai, is the new location for Bhumika Grover’s second designer boutique as she expands her concept from New Dehli and sets her sights on international growth.

Bhumika Grover opened her eponymous boutique and fashion label in New Delhi focusing on ethnic and traditional couture. The business has proved successful in the metro city and she opened a boutique of the same nature last week in Mumbai after announcing a countdown on her Facebook page.

Grover said, however, that these are not her only plans for expansion: “I plan on expanding within India in key metro cities. I am also looking at franchisee channels along with large format stores, which are recognising Indian designers and their works.”

Moreover, along with Indian expansion, Grover also has her sights on international growth. Grover said: “Apart from this, my retail expansion plan will also cover going to markets like UAE, London, and New York where I have a good consumer base and a following which appreciates designer wear but with Indian sensibilities. This is all planned for the next five years.”

The brand has also recently launched a collection of accessories including juttis and bags to complement her garments. Grover’s boutique itself has also been designed to reflect the heavily embellished traditional lehengas and gowns she sells and, as her educational background is in interior design, this comes as no surprise.
