Asics appoints Andrew Richard to executive team

Asics America has named footwear industry leader Andrew Richard to its executive team as VP of Regional Sales for America, which includes the US, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.

In his new role, Richard will lead the company's sales team for the company's largest region.

Richard hails most recently from Puma, where he was Global Head of Merchandising for footwear. In that role he oversaw global product line management for product lines generating over $1.1 billion annually.

"Andy brings a wealth of sales expertise to Asics and we are thrilled to welcome him to the team in this imperative role," said Gene McCarthy, Asics America Group CEO and President.

McCarthy continued, "As our industry continues to shift, we must continue to evolve. With Andy and his deep industry knowledge at the helm, we are positioning ourselves for great success within the marketplace."

Prior to Puma, Richard built, reorganized and led national sales and merchandising teams at Timberland and Reebok. He brings over 20 years of experience to his role which is effective immediately.
