Alexander McQueen among UK’s coolest brands of 2015

Published
Sep 28, 2015

The annual barometer of Britain’s coolest brands, chosen by an expert council of influencers, has released the latest results for 2015. The top 20 most desired brands in the UK include Ray-Ban, Nike, Instagram, Chanel and Liberty.

Alexander McQueen ranked sixth thanks to Savage Beauty, the exhibition shown at the V&A from March to August

Apple retained the top spot for the fourth consecutive year, as sales of its new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have broken a new record just three days after its launch. The American label was followed by Ray-Ban and the Glastonbury festival, in the second and third spot.

Nike took the fourth place, with Netflix rising five slots and taking fifth.

Alexander McQueen ranked sixth, rising seven places thanks to the highly popular Savage Beauty exhibition, shown in London from March to August this year. The retrospective of the late designer’s life and work became V&A’s most visited exhibition with 493,043 people seeing it in total.

Instagram also moved up 7 slots to reach the seventh spot, followed by the legendary fashion house Chanel.

Tenth place was taken by Youtube, which fell 2 slots from 2014.

Finally, adidas came in at 18th and Liberty at 20th.

The selection of labels for the CoolBrands index is administered by the Centre for Brand Analysis, which takes a range of brand evaluation and brand strategy projects across both business-to-consumer and business-to-business sectors.
