13 Bonaparte opens store in Los Angeles, plans US e-shop and New York, San Francisco openings

13 Bonaparte's first foray outside France came last April in New York, with a pop-up store set up in the Lower East Side district. The French menswear label remains very keen on the US market, and has opened its first permanent store abroad in downtown L.A., within the Row DTLA business and commercial centre, at 1318 7th Street. This Arts District location is already home to several designer boutiques, artist studios and creative agencies.

The choice was justified "first of all by the quality of the international clientèle that lives there, said the label's founder David Sarfati, as well as by the loyal following the brand enjoys in its Paris store among US customers, the label's second-largest client group."

13 Bonaparte's L.A. store was established through the label's US subsidiary, created at the start of the year and led by Maxwell Anderson, an Angeleno who studied at the Harvard Business School. The 90 m2 store showcases the label's collections amidst vintage designer furniture - lounge tables by Marco Zanuso, neon lamps by Rodolfo Benetto, 1970s chairs - and its interiors feature concrete, metal and Plexiglas finishings.

As well as 13 Bonaparte's signature items, including a large selection of mid-season clothes, the new store will shine a spotlight on the denim line, launched last spring for both men and - for the first time - women, and also plans to host on a regular basis the label's collaborations with local artists and designers.

13 Bonaparte will soon launch its e-shop dedicated to the US market, and in the medium-to-long term it plans further store openings in the USA, with New York and San Francisco among the priority venues.
